Can anybody help me? Thailand!

I have tried putting pressure on them but they are not interested! It's shocked me how they are not interested in helping and have basically just told us to sit it out and see what happens. They say they will contact us when the time comes. But it's my honeymoon and we wanted something special. We have been saving for 2 years so I don't want to end up doing what we do every year and ending up in a 3 star hotel in Majorca.0

Well i guess i am lucky in that i have private medical insurance with my company, so if i need anything i simply pay for it and reclaim it, hence i do not worry about this, and i have never had to claim anything from travel insurance in all my trips abroad, so perhaps i have become a bit lax in that respect and in the thinking that i dont really need it. Also i am a bit of a gambler so would be willing to take the risk on going to Thailand at this time.
Sorry to take your thread off track from your choices and i really hope you get your honeymoon sorted out, also sorry i can not help you with your predicament.0 -
Maybe you can cancel and get you money back thogh no doubt there would be a long wait for it, this is from the 1st link I posted.
In the statement it stressed that travel partners would need to recognise the “force majeure” and asked them to confirm that all cancellations and no shows would not be charged
I wouldnt know what to do in your situation, it must seem that everthing is against you.
It may be difficult to wait but it all might turn out ok for you and I really hope you do get to go there.0 -

No. Cancelling now would mean paying the cancellation charges (which will be hefty 2 weeks before departure).
To be sure of getting a full refund you need to await them cancelling. Hopefully the advice will change before you are due to go, and your trip will proceed as booked.0 -

Yeah, they've told us that if we want to cancel now, we have to pay the necessary charges. We have to wait until they contact us. They originally told us it would be two days before we are due to fly which is my wedding day!!!0 -
I see on the Hayes and Jarvis website they are dealing with bokings up to 6th May so its worth keeping an eye on the website to see when this changes.
If eventually they do offer you a full refund how about getting flights to Malaysia, had a quick look and you can get last minute flights for around £470 with Emirates and then booking a hotel somewhere like Langkawi.0 -
Kuoni are letting customers due to go in the next 7 days cancel with a full refund (or change destination)
Customers going in 7 to 14 days can change destination now (but must pay any extra costs).
These arrangements are rolling over each day. (Currently you cannot cancel without charge until 7 days prior to departure)0 -
I seen Kuonis policy earlier today. If only Hayes and Jarvis were the same :0)0
