Urgent Help Needed

I have approx 4K on one credit card - i am only able to afford the minimum monthly payments and the interest in killing me - i feel i will never get rid of this debt - i have just found out that because of a late payment of £20 due to my moving location, job etc on another card which is now stopped i have been landed with a default notice - this obviously means i cannot gain from trying to do any sort of a balance transfer as i will no doubt be refused should i apply for a new card - the bank wont help either as i have already got one loan with them and a massive overdraft to boot - is there anyone out there who could give me some much needed advice on this one - i am in permanent employment on a pretty low income - would be very grateful for any helpful suggestions !
