I'm pretty sure 16hrs means no more JSA but if your on a low income you could get some help with working tax credits. Check entitledto.co.uk for an estimate and info.

Yes...... You won't get any JSA though (assuming you getting paid NMW).. You'll still get an amount in HB. You can work 40+ hours and still claim HB.
You can continue to sign on to get NI credits or make sure you are paid at least £95 per week to get NI credits credited for you by your employer and HMRC. It works out at about 16.5 hours at minimum wage.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0 -
To carry on claiming JSA it would have to be less than 16 hrs and every £1 you earn would be offset against your JSA.

You have to have children or have a disability to get working tax credits for working 16 hours.0

Or be over 50 years and have been on benefit for 6 months plus0

I was told by a JSA advisor the other week that I could work up to 15 hours and 59 minutes and still claim but not 16 hours. Is there any chance your new employer could adjust your hours?0

Why do people still want JSA if they are working?
Someone might take a few hours part-time work in the hopes of obtaining FT. But because they still obtain a small amount of JSA a NI contibution is also credited."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Sorry what i meant was - why would you want to claim anything off the state if you were a proud working person. Surely you would not want hand outs anymore?
if they are on a casual/PT contract then they may have variable hours
RM run 1 hour contracts where all you will get is 1 hour of work some weeks
so on 1 hours pay they would have S payments
being proud doesnt pay the bills0
