 There are jobs, problem is many do not want to do what is considered lower status. I have a friend who in the manager of a care home (charity run), they have real problems recruiting workers at well above minimum wage. Many applicants run a mile when they find out that night shifts are required and that that some of the jobs do include literally getting your hands dirty.0

            I think some would rather exist on what money they get and do the odd job, cash in hand. It can be done at their convenience whereas getting employed would take up far too much of their time....0

            I quite happily turned to rolling up my sleeves and working as a cleaner when I was made redundant from my previous management position.
