Knobs on cooker getting very hot

We've just had a new New World gas cooker fitted, and when I tried the oven for the first time I noticed that the knobs on the front got very hot.
I don't remember this on our old cooker (also a New World) which we've had for about 10 years. I did a quick search and couldn't really find anything of any use, so I'd be grateful for any advice. Many thanks.

My 3 year old Hotpoint cooker does this as well. Never really found out why.0

Possibly the oven door isn't closing properly and requires adjustment.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
