Help, advice needed!!

Options
Ok after renting house for 4 years landlord POSTED eviction notice through the door. They have decided to rent the property to a family member who is supposedly really desperate for a place (never mind me and my partner!). They said they will give us really good references as weve always paid on time and kept house nice. Not perfect timing as we were just about to start our own business but we have decided to carry on working our full time jobs as well as it will be abit easier to rent that way. Our main problem is we have a small dog and we finding it really hard to find somewhere that allows pets. Just wondered what the options are, if any, if we cant find anywhere to rent. Please dont say get rid of the dog because we've had her for 7 years and she’s part of our family. Im just getting so stressed out as i have a wedding to help plan also!. So wanna get it sorted asap. Any advice or words of wisdom will be apreciated. Thank you

The vast majority of rental adverts say no dogs. Most agencies also put this on the ads as a condition of rental almost by default. But quite often if you approach the landlord, they are willing to allow a pet. Some won't but many will if it means they are going to get good tennants.

If you ask then most people don't seem to mind. We had two cats and didn't have a problem renting nice houses when we rented.

You've just got to get out there and look - no point procrastinating.

I would apply even if the ad says "no pets". If you offer an extra deposit to cover pet damage/cleaning then you may sway a landlord.
