Thanks for your responses. I've calmed down a bit now lol
The account is in credit, and I can take myself off with out his authorisation. I used to work for the Building society so I am 99% sure of that, unless it has changed in a year.0 -
I can see it from both sides to be honest!
As it's only £26 maybe he feels as he has made sacrifices (I'm assuming he has) that he deserves a treat.
I can also see that you are desperate to use every spare penny to pay off the debt!
It's all about finding a happy medium!
I just hope this fence hasn't been recently painted!

Hey! Us men arent all bad.
Being honest please dont get offended but you're OH sounds like a bit of a fool. Just remind him that the more you save the more you can chip off your debt so its best to go without out treats for just that short time and once you are both out of debt you can enjoy your lives. he's a bit selfish if you ask me0 -

That's where you're going wrong.
If my OH thought we had any money saved anywhere, it would burn a hole in his pocket and he would have to go and buy a DVD or something.
Simple solution is to save it somewhere he will never find it
We (I) have an internet savings account that I can transfer little bits of spare money to. My aim is to save some for a rainy day, then save to repay lump sums off our debts.

That's what I have reluctantly had to do this month. We are totally broke after all the bills get paid so I have had to hide my bank card and the money we got from selling our spare fridge and the freezer so we have some spending money in October when we go to Glasgow for a concert (I got him the tickets for his birthday)
I'm thinking of opening up a savings account too. Do you have to pay a minimum amount in a month?DFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!

No. My account is with the Co-op, and you just save as and when you want. I think you just open the account with £1.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

I'm with ING Direct and save £10/month.The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0
