I have been looking into printers and nearly everyone recommends Canon Pixma printers. The IP5200 (the model up from the IP4200 recommended earlier in this thread, which also did well in Which?) got 'Best Buy' in the recent Which? test.

Last week it was on for £65 delivered, but it has gone up to £78 now! I wish I had got one last week!0 -

Do this but sell the original cartridges that come with it. You'll get £20-£25 on ebay. That makes the printer £30.0 -
Dont forget with the new Canon's you cant use compats so running costs are high

Tescos do cheap versions of the likes of Canon and Epson.
Try https://www.freecycle.org there has been loads offered on my local one recently.
Only ones I would definately say no to are HP and Lexmark, always had problems with them and cartriges are expensive.One day I might be more organised...........
