This is exactly the reason I chose to study Mining Engineering... more jobs than graduates, work in every single country on the planet oh and wages start at approx £40k for a 21yr old inexperienced graduate. Sorry if I sound a little smug...

Hey, fella, really hope you get the job of your dreams when you graduate. I wouldn't be too smug about your employment prospects though...

The employment of mining and geological engineers (including mining safety engineers) is expected to decrease in the period through 2012. A significant quantity of industries which hire mining engineers on a large scale like the coal, metal, and copper mining industries are predicted to go through declines in employment.

And just to make sure that what I'm saying is not unfounded...

Yep, so glad that I decided not to become a mining engineer right now.

    Good luck, anyway, young man.

yes you do sound a little smug to be honest but thats nothing new for a 21 in-experienced graduate! ive worked with plenty 21 yr olds and you will soon see the real world. All i wanted was to gain future prospects to better myself for my son. I dont want £40k a yr
