Mortgage agreement in principle/credit rating late payment question

Hello
I am not sure if this is the right section of the forum but hoping someone can [FONT=Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]give me some advice...
I got a mortgage agreement in principle 6 months ago with no problem – I had an excellent credit rating. It has now run out so looking to renew it, however recently Orange put a late payment notice on my credit report... It was only for £16, and it was because I never actually received the bill in the first place after I closed my phone account.
I am trying to contact Orange to get them to remove the notice, but am having difficulty getting hold of them – tried sending them a fax which is the only means of contacting them but their fax machine won’t answer.
Basically, I am wondering if this will harm my chances of getting a mortgage promise renewed? Has anyone managed to successfully get a late payment removed because of never receiving the bill in the first place?
Thanks very much!
