Peugeot Car Key

Options
A long time ago i lost my peugeot car key - the one with the buttons on - i have phoned the dealer and they said about £200 for a new one - so have been using the normal one for a year or so - now i am expecting a baby and think it would be a lot easier to have my remote key again - do i need to get it from the dealer or can anyone tell me a cheaper way - £200 is a lot more than i can afford!

thanks in advance

I would ring around some local Auto locksmiths they should be a bit cheaper maybe £150 ish or less depending on model.
  • Unfortunately you may not be able to get it significantly cheaper - remote keys are costly little things!

I priced up a key just this afternoon for a customer for a peugeot 206. Remote key was £67 plus £7 for the blade and then coding in, about £30. Plus VAT of course! The non remote key was £20.22 would take about a week if you wanted Peugeot to cut it for you, no extra cost.

Think someone is trying to rip you off!

Need to know model and age. If it is old enough, you can get the car to learn a new key yourself (the old IR keys).

I suspect that will be too new to have the diy programming option, so your best bet is a key specialist/auto locksmith.
