Lightweight suitcases

Hi - Just booked 2 week holiday with Thomas Cook and have paid for the additional allowance to get 20 kilos luggage allowance with each person. I realise this topic has been discussed previously (c.2007) but wondered if anyone had any up to date suggestions of:
a) best style of lightweight luggage to go for?
b) any recommended brands?
Thanks in advance, chathamlady.

I always used wheeled holdalls, recently bought one from the Tripp Pillow range, holds loads and is really lightweigth.

They are really light weight, but not very substantial. They are great for carry on luggage as they are exactly the right size for ryanair, and cabin luggage doesn't get bashed around, but I'd be wanting something a bit tougher if it was going in the hold

World's Lightest Luggage ........... Agree with above poster. I use them for carry on, but would not put the larger ones in the hold. I bought two (three months apart) at T J Hughes in Middlesbrough for £30 each. Can pack loads into them and really like travelling just with carry on.
