HI,
Me and my fiance will hopefully be booking our wedding venue in the next couple of weeks, but we were wondering is it alot cheaper to have your wedding on a Friday and if so, can you let me know what you have saved on?
Also are photographers, cars, videograpers cheaper?
Thanks

Depends on the venue but it the main..... No.
Weddign suppliers are wise to how popualr Friday weddings are becoming now and will still charge a premium.
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesdays are your best bet0 -
We also looked at this (however, we're going for Sunday now). We found some places where Friday weddings were cheaper however, a lot were the same prices as Saturday. I think it just depends on the venue.
i can't really be a lot of help as we went for the Sunday!

we're getting married on a friday and i have noticed most photographers have a price bracket for mondays to thursdays and then another higher bracket for friday, saturday or sunday, so in that respect I would say no.
However the hotel we are having our ceremony and reception in were a lot more flexible on what we are having because of it being friday, they wouldn't normally have a big event on a day like this so there is no minimum numbers or minimum spend. Basically we have been able to tailor the day to our requirements and budget a lot more easily than if it were a saturday.0 -
I would say yes. I am getting married on a thursday but my best friend just got married on a friday and said they had loads of savings for non-weekend. The photographer i booked gives standard 10% off for anything other than sat and sun and so did the casino i have hired. plus anything extra you can negotiate. just find the right people and place and you will save.0

I'm getting married on a Sunday, which is a bank holiday weekend which was cheaper than the Friday or Saturday.
As talulahbeige said Mon, Tues or Wed are cheapest for the complete wedding package (Venue, Photographer etc) but you may have to ask guests to take time off work.

It really depends on the venue.
Im going to a friday wedding in July of a family member and it hasnt been any cheaper that our Saturday wedding and we've gone for fairly similar packages.
Sunday weddings can be just as expensive too. Our church costs the same whatever day, but i noticed that our local registry office mon-sat charges are the same but its ALOT more if you want a sunday civil wedding.
Some service providers will offer discounts if its not a Saturday, but since Fridays are becoming popular the discounts on fridays are not so great as if you went for an early week wedding.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
It depends on what you're booking. As I'm a make-up artist that has another job during the week I would actually charge more for a weekday wedding as I would have to accomodate it with everything else.
But a lot of venues will be cheaper on a Friday and I'd say that is your biggest cost.0 -
We are getting married on a Friday and have found it has helped the bargaining process, we generally have said 'so is that your best price considering its a friday?' and found everyone has discounted to some degree even on their 'official' friday prices!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

I was hell bent on having a Saturday but our venue was £1,200 cheaper for a Friday.
We could have saved a further £800 by having it on a Thursday, but I didn't want to do that.0 -
As others say, it depends on the venue, as they seem to be twigging that people are going for fridays.
I thought about doing a friday, but the price difference was so minimal I decided not to.
Plus I feel bad about making people take a day off work for my wedding0
