  • Anewman - Thank you! That's great, TBH i am a little dumb when it comes to cars (this is my first as i'd never been interested in driving before having the kiddies) but yes it does have an immoboliser...never knew quite how it worked (der me) so that is good info to me.

Luckylucky - i think the flashing light might actually be a good idea then. Thank you!

I would question the point of a car alarm, on virtually any car to be honest.
They seem to attract vandals too. Once they find a car when they smack it an alarm goes off they get all excited about the noise (thick or what?!), then do it again and again to hear the exciting noise.
  • LOL!!!! Yeah sounds like some of the kids where my OH's parents live...super Kevin and Perry thick!

No no no....it's coz it's an auto. And a nice kitted out one in actually extremely good nick with good millage, lol! Had to travel far away to get it too as down here you can't get one cheaper than £1500 for something actually in good running condition. It's nuts but they seem to keep their value better than most cars like fiestas and corsas.

We have looked at some for £900 range but they ALL have something wrong or over 100,000 miles and looked a bit !!!!!!ed inside. We took 3 diff people all really knowledgable in cars to check it over and all said deffo a good car.

I know if it were manual we'd have easily got one for a good few hundred less.

Lol - i searched hard for this please don't tell me i got stung, lol! It's a nice little motor all kitted out so wanna at least put some kind of alarm on it -even if it's just a simple-ish one.
I wouldn't worry about how much you paid for it now, what's done is done. You paid your money and now have a good car for a few years. :D
And yes someone else on here did say that to me a few months ago in the same context!

Give a couple of local independent car alarm/audio type places a ring and see what they say. If its anything other than what anewman suggested you will need pro fitting. Also do you know you sometimes get a discount on your insurance for an alarm? Tends to have to be Thatcham cat 1 (a testing and rating system for alarms) and pro fitted to make a difference though I think.

Anewman thanks for that! I've been looking for something like that for a while now.
