renault megane price??

Options
Hi we are looking at buying a Renault Megane 1.5dci dynamique it was registered in oct 2004, it has done 22000 miles, do you think 7445 pounds is about right? I have been trying to compare and some seem cheaper some are dearer, we will have until 60,000 miles dealers warranty and 1 year from the garage they will put 6 months tax on it and the tyres are good, anything else you can think of please let me know.
Thanks.

I have megane 03 plate, I would be reluctant to recommend it. I took it back for warranty issues 8 times. it was an ex demo car. It wasn't even right when i took delivery. The salesman fobbed me off with some lame excuse and disappeared. They are lovely when they work, but taking in for repairs on average every 6-8 weeks was not impressive. Not buying renault again
  • What was the problems?
  • These Meganes dont have the best reputation, the 1.9 DCI have problems with the EGR valve which dumps oil into the turbo unit, turbo & engine then ruined. Not sure if thats the same for the 1.5 though. Do some digging around before you decide.

    automatic locking didn't work
    push button start button broke
    paint started flaking
some coils (can't remember what they were) went
    badly squeeking brakes
    passenger door wouldn't open
    keycard faulty
    grinding noise on start up
    intermittent non starting

some of these happened more than once, and a few other things i can't remember now
  • how would it compare to an 05 kia cerato 1.5 crdi lx? this could be an other choice.it has only done 4510 miles.

Renaults are not the most robust of cars and the Laguna is even worse than the Megane - and the Renault dealers told me that!
