Question about V5c
Options
My mums part exing her car and is surrendering her tax disc to get whats left back but she is confused about the log book part, the form for the tax disc says about sending the relevant part of the log book(v5c) with the tax disc but the guy who sold her teh car says to let the dealer send the log book off, which should she do ? Ive always had the dealer sort the log book out in the past

If I read it right (sorry not had 2nd coffee yet!) your mum is trading her car in to a dealer and there is a few months left on the tax disc.
When she takes the car in to the dealer they will sign and stamp the section that relates to selling to the trade.
She should complete the application for refund of tax (can be downloaded from DVLA) and attach it to the section of V5C.

Your mum needs to take off Section 9 (yellow section) and she sends this to DVLA to notify that she has disposed of the vehicle. She will then get a letter back within 4 weeks confirming sale. Do not leave it up to the dealer to do!
To refund tax disc she needs form V14. This can be sent with the slip from V5C.
