I got the same Ratgirl.I take a relaxed attitude to spam as I see it as a byproduct of comping.Comps are just a form of marketing but Maxim are a little cheeky with it.

They only send this after you've entered a comp, it's an automated reply from them I get this every time I enter a comp (it will say RE: blah blah comp) and I get one other email a week about Maxim competitions.
I have entered every time there's been a comp with these and never received more than one email per week off them (apart from the replies).
I think 'spam' is the likes of topfox, and companies which ring you to bug you about debts and changing providers etc. I think the odd email is just the norm tbh RG. It's just a hazard of comping, they give prizes for free as part of marketing, IYSWIM?

As it's only sent after entering a comp, I considered it on par with the ones that need validation of the email address to enter you into the comp.

I'm really replying to ask you to check your end date ...................did you mean 15/5?
