JSA and working less than 16 hours

I have just started claiming JSA again but have had a few hours in a casual job- it is not guaranteed hours, it has all been declared to JCP. What I want to know is how does "paying back" work, I do not get paid from this job until mid may and it will be nearer the end before I have the money in the bank- we get paid by cheque and pay day is always the same day and it a Saturday in May. I assume that I would take my payslip to the job centre when I sign on and then they would adjust the next payment- is that correct?
