carers allowance

hi just wanted to know if carers allowance has a effect on the dla the disable person recieves? someone told me that some money is deducted from the disabled persons dla benefiit and gets given to the carer?

    No; but the disabled person can't claim the SDP on income based benefits.

    Hello,

    DLA is not affected at all by someone getting Carer's Allowance.

    There is something called the severe disability premium which is part of Income Support (not DLA) that will be affected if someone claims Carer's for the person receiving it.
