i need advice / car insurance.

This is the situation, I know I'm not at fault at all, my car was legally parked in front of my house, a wreckless driver was speeding down my narrow street and swirved right into my unoccupied car and left a huge dent on my driver's side door and a crack on my front bumper. The car that hit mine, ended up hitting the fence down the street and was towed away.

But my concern is about car insurance. I called both my insurance and the other person's car insurance and made claims to both. My insurance told me they will not cover damages to my car because it only for liability? And I never got it inspected? Will the other insurance help me or am I just totally screwed? Is there a way I can work around this? I don't completely understand how car insurance work.

I know this might sound like a dumb question, but I just a bit worried. Am I out of luck in this situation?

Just a thought or you covered fully comp, or just 3rd party fire and theft, if fully comp ur insurance would sort it out, was the police involved, you may need a reference number, did the other driver admit liability?

Sorry can't be much more help, guessing if your ins is 3rd party you may have to deal with the ins company.
Hopefully someone will help better than me.

You should be claiming against the other party's insurance only, not yours, as he was at fault. It'll be their insurance that will be paying out.
