When you part x change
Just wondering, would a garage usually register a car you have part exchanged or do they wait until they sell it on then the new owner register it?
I part exchanged by car in August last year and got a speeding fine through the post for it last week!
I'm guessing they don't register and someone has just bought it recently?

They wait until they sell it however you should have posted the yellow slip to the DVLA and within 4 weeks (iirc?) received a letter acknowledging that they know you are no longer the registered keeper.0

I did and pretty sure I received confirmation. Feel a bit bad for the guy at the garage now as I haggled a really good deal and he had my car nearly 8mths!0
