Er, just which part of the original posting leads you to assume that the person asking the question uses either a PC or Windows?

You could argue that anybody not using a PC or Windows would probably be more tech savvy and as such would probably have:

    a) Been able to find out for themselves and not needed to ask on here

    or

    b) Posted more details information, perhaps along the lines "would you reccomend x,y, or z....." or "I've tried a,b and c....."

I suppose the irony of this statement is pretty much lost on you lol. In your sweeping statements, you missed out on the fact that there are a number of us who actually mainly use a Linux distro. Oops!

(Why do you have such a chip on your shoulder anyway? Or is it just your 'I've got a Mac!' schtick? I don't know why Mac users tend to have this inferiority complex going, but it's not an attractive quality I must say.)

If the OP gives more information, then they would get more specific advice. Given the sparsity of the information provided by the OP, then it is a reasonable working assumption that the OP uses Windows (like the majority of people who use computers). If it turns out that the advice doesn't apply to them, then the OP can just tell us. Most changes made by the OP could be undone by someone with better technical knowledge. Unless they give us more detail, it becomes less and less fruitful to cover every possibility.

Take your condescending attitude somewhere else.

Which bit of my post assumes a PC and Windows? The comment about Netnanny? For all I know, the software providers have written both a Mac and Windows version.... it's not an unreasonable assumption.

    s/PC/computer

I didn't mention anywhere the word "Windows" and I use PC as synonym for computer... And in this forum it's safe to assume that the poster uses Windows if he/she doesn't write something else.

I'm not using Windows but my computer has a hosts file too, in a different though. And if you look closely you'll find one too on your Mac...

This made me laugh. It's very often the Apple fanboys who are "passionate, fanatical and unquesting followers" :p

On the other hand the OP has neither thanked anybody nor answered any of the questions. What are we arguing here for?

Agree with Russ and googler, it's not a good attitude. No wonder you started a thread about how you lost 200 thanks in one day.

In response to your point, it's a pretty safe assumption that OP is using Windows because they did not state otherwise.

To answer the OP, all things being equal, there is no technical method of blocking selected people from ebay and keeping them blocked. I suggest a social solution.

If the OP has Kaspersky internet security (dont want to make an rash assumptions here :rotfl:) they can use the parental control settings to adjust the three levels of profile to block or allow certain sites.

    This control is password protected.

Yeah. But it kept me amused on a dull afternoon. :D

Surprising that none of the great IT geniuses suggested that she simply change her eBay password. :rotfl:

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Also known as trolling - an attempt to cease control of this genuine discussion or cause disruption by provoking unrelated arguments. Best not to feed the trolls and just wait for the offending posts to be deleted. Then maybe OP will be able to make some sense of the legitimate replies.
