Hewlard Packard Printer- Im amazed!!

My HP printer showed a message on monday 'black cartridge not recognised'
even though it was 1/3 full.I emailed HP they emailed back with all sorts of questions( to which I replied), finally asking for the serial number of the printer.Next thing I know they email to say a new printer will be with me on Thursday!!! I tracked its progress, it had come from Holland via brussels to the UK and it arrived today. I am still in a state of shock - what incredible service. WELL DONE HP and Thank you.

Have to say HP were very good when I had problems with my old PC a few years back. They were brilliant on the phone and called me back to save my phone bill and when they couldn't resolve the problem, sent new parts and an engineer to fit them! Thumbs up to HP!

They do make things very easy if a printer needs replacing. I don't know of any major printer manufacturer who is quite that good. Epson are a bit of a nightmare to navigate through their various service procedures.

I have mixed feelings about HP. On the one hand, their ink - in fact, most printer ink - is more expensive than human blood or alcohol. But on the other hand..

This is one reason why it is worth contacting the manufacturer first if you have a problem rather than insisting on taking the shop who sold it to court. Some manufacturers are rubbish, others will fix things faster than any shop can.
