What could be causing it and how can I stop it:mad:?
It's a low level interefernce type noise, but I have no new electrical stuff nearby. The monitor's a Digimate 17 inch monitor which has been completely silent for the past year since I got it - coincidentally that just takes it out of the guarantee period. ! Any ideas/solutions welcome.

I've had my Relisys 17" CRT monitor for 2yrs now and have been having the same noise problems in the last few months. I've just been giving it a good slap and the noise stops for a few weeks or so and then comes back.
I'm guessing it could be the CRT inside or something ?0 -
Take it back to the retailer, don't worry about it being "out of guarantee" as products have be of "merchantable quality" and "fit for purpose" under the Sale of Goods Act, a guarantee is in addition to and cannot take away statutory rights,(SoGA), these rights can last up to 6 years.sleepless_saver wrote:What could be causing it and how can I stop it:mad:?

it may be the backlight you could try adusting the brightness level
when i turn on my psp with it running off the mains the screen makes a high pitched noise(on the highest brightness setting no.4(which can only be used while its running off the mains)), but when its running off the battery on the highest backlight brightness level (no.3) it does not make a noise0
