Well my 'topsy turvy' is interesting now. Ive not used a 'tumbler' variety and just plonked an ordinary tomatoe plant in it and its growing allover.
However im feeding and watering regularly and ive got flowers coming and it seems ok so i will post a pic in the future.

Well I dunno about the "topsyturvy's" but I did like the idea and decided I would try doing the same without the cost.

I have used 2 litre bottles for each individual tom plant, and so far so good! Admittedly I have to water them everyday (which I would have to do if they were upright), feed them weekly as I normally do.

I am growing Roma's, Beefsteak and Money Maker's in the bottle's, so far they seem to be growing, have at least 4 elongated golf ball sized Roma's growing out of 2 bottle's. But they are well and trully pot bound, so gonna try a 3l bottle next time and see if that helps.

Cheers, good invention there!. Im going to buy 2 more from tjs though as there now only couple of quid and have a deep root system, like a big pop bottle.
Like i say i thought it was going to be a big flop, however like yourself flowers are coming and there seems less faffing about.

Think you might have been better off using a bucket, or at least something that size.

I would if I had the room to place them, but having 73 tomato plants ranging from cherry to full bush (including 12 in bottles).

Last year I had them in my planter and I had lots of fruit, but it was a pain to get to them all. Cherry variety always do well in hanging baskets, I plant them around the side and place a marigold in the top to help the tomatoes along.
