If they are legit then writing in will get you get a refund minus a £5.00 admin fee they are allowed to keep by law, If they are not legit then you have no chance of a refund and will need to just forget wasting time and energy as they will not give you anything.

If it is the Indian scam one I have seen many on my site complaining to me about fee's being taken ranging from £49.99 up to £250.00 plus for loans and they use the reason as they need to see you can pay back the loan amount required and also that the account name is correct, Once paid you get nothing back and are wasting time and money chasing it as they simply ignore you.

Shame really that nothing can be done but at present these guys are laughing at how much they are making on this as in one week I must have had 8-9 complaints on my site alone so it is easy cash for them.

If it were me I would probably want to track them down and tip them upside down but then think of the expense in travelling to India and actually finding the guys behind it.

    We do like informative posts....

    http://www.starloansuk.com/
Requests for refunds of the Fee must be requested in writing by post to Star Loans Ltd, Evolution House, East Tyndall Street, Cardiff, CF24 5DA
Send now and claim it all back (including the £5). If they don't refund, go to the FOS

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

On the basis of probability, I doubt this info will be at all useful to anyone being scammed.
  • Just done some research as I have bee stung by another company called Search Loans who operate out of Newport Gwent. A little digging revealed their Owner/CEO/Secretary is non other than Mr Mohammed Akhtar former Owner/CEO/Secretary of Star Loans.

It would seem that even if Star loans have been pulled up Mr Akhtar has not.
