Just wondering if anyone has any more info or an update about this company being investigated by trading standards? Is it still ongoing or has it stopped? replies much apreciated thanks.

i have just had dealings with star loans thay have just taken £49.50 from my account without me talking to anyone from there so called company or signing anything from them. do thay have the right to take money from your account without signing anything. i have just been on the phone to them and thay said that thay cant refund me my money. i wish i had seen this page befor

Had you given your details to a loan broker site ?

They can refund the money but I would suggest you do it in writing.

Looks like Cardiff Trading Standards did a Stirling job back in 2010. Hats of to the enforcement officer.

If any of these guys in this thread are going to request anything in writing, I think they should ask someone else to do the writing.

It seems this company are still at it, several calls from 0203 640 2926 - a cover number for an Indian call centre.

When I said I wouldn't pay a fee and they should remove my details immediately they just hung up on me. Next time I have a whistle next to the phone and I will ensure they suffer

Seems trading standards are a toothless tiger when it comes to stopping these rip off merchants

Yes they are still at I just been ripped of by them after telling the foriegn woman on phone I do not wish for them take any money out of my account I couldn't understand half the words she was saying they are now based in east Tyndall just by howdens in place called evolution house I explained to my bank I have not signed any paper work as well but they said to me don't matter I always believed that unless documents are signed then bank can't pay out also I don't have an overdraft so where do I stand

Ask someone to write a letter for you, asking for a refund.
