Best Current Accounts

Why isn't the Leeds Building Society Albion Cheque Account mentioned in the 'best interest rates' section?
It looks just like a fully functioning current account to me (cheque book, cheque card, DD, Standing Order etc) and it pays between 3.7% and 4.25% AER depending on balance in account.
And this amount of interest is paid on the whole balance up to £250000 subject to there being a minimum of £2500 in the account.
It certainly sounds like a very good rate for a current account - what do others feel?
Also, what does Martin feel?

However no cash transactions or debit card? Also some might prefer a bank with a larger branch network.mike_in_easenhall wrote:It looks just like a fully functioning current account to me (cheque book, cheque card, DD, Standing Order etc) and it pays between 3.7% and 4.25% AER depending on balance in account.
Savings rates are available of 4.75%+ so why would you leave large balances in it anyway?mike_in_easenhall wrote:And this amount of interest is paid on the whole balance up to £250000 subject to there being a minimum of £2500 in the account.0 -
No debit card - only a cheque book (blimey, how 20th century:eek: ). I can manage without a cheque book, but no debit card? Forget it.
And a minimum balance of £2,500 pretty much takes it off most people's lists when it comes to current accounts.
Does it have an overdraft?Everyone needs something to believe in.
I believe I need another beer.0
