Hello,
I currently drive a 52 plate renault clio extreme with 52 000 miles on the clock, my first car. But i'm fed up with it and looking for my second car I would like a change so am looking at selling this and probably getting a new car on finance.
I was wondering if any one would be able to suggest a car that would be suitable for me. I only really travel short distances like shopping trips the only "need" is for a big enough boot to accomadate a wheel chair.
I'm quite easy going in all other aspects but I would be looking at keeping this car for a good couple of years. I was just wondering if there were any "deals" on atm on any new cars.
One thing i do need to consider tho is the insurance, so nothing to sporty or that will cost the earth!!
Many Thanks

Panda 1.1 Eco Active £5995, insurance group 1, £30 a year road tax. Great fun to drive round city and comes with power steering, cd player, electric windows, central locking.
Now there is no room in the boot for a wheel chair so you may need to fold the seats down.
A Kia Rio may well suit your needs better if you can put up with driving a washing machine.0 -
Skoda Roomster or Nissan Note?0

I second the Kia Rio. I have a new Kia Rio Strike. I find it great to drive, its fairly nippy and is spacious for a 'small' car.0

Bit of a sweeping statement I have owned a Peugeot 306 for 10 years and it's been very reliable, it's even got the original exhaust on it still.Nothing to see here, move along.0 -
I have a Kia Rio, this is my second one, both bought brand new, I sold my first one for £1700.00 three years ago, it was four years old, it cost me £6500.00 and no layout for maintenenace. the second is the same, it goes like a singer sewing machine and needs very little apart from the regulkar servicing and petrol. Haven't had replace anything on or in it, My rio is used for shopping trips and the ocassional trip to Heathrow.
The Rio is nothg like a dishwashing machine, roomy and quiet, easy to drive and park0 -

peugeot stopped making good cars after the 306 and as the op is after something newish the 306 is not relevant
the last decent car renault made was the series 2 clio after that their rubbish
and as for citroen well0 -
Skoda Fabia?
Any of the Hyundai range suit you? Or are you a bit more badge conscious0 -
There is deals to be had at the moment if you look on the dealer websites, they seem to have started discounting again instead of over inflated prices for scrappage.
Ive just bought a new Fiesta and got a good deal, most of the manufacturers are doing deals at the moment.
When I had to transport a wheelchair I bought a Honda Civic it fitted in great. If you go looking at cars take the wheelchair with you and see how easy it is to lift in and out, some cars have good size boots but you have to lift high to get the chair in then struggle to get it out.

I've had my Citroen C3 for nearly 6yrs now and no problems with it at all.
There are usually some good deals to be had depending on whether you are looking at a finance option or to buy outright.
Not sure if a wheelchair will fit in the boot though but I do think the boot is bigger than my old Clio so worth trying.0
