Changing service provider

Sorry...this could equally be in the broadband forum.

I currently have Sky for line rental, broadband and talk package.

I have just done some maths and, with cashback, it would be cheaper to be with Orange to the tune of over £100 give or take, over 18 months

BUT

It would appear that Sky have bought my line from BT and I would have to get a whole new line installed (approx £110) rather than have it swapped back - apparently swapping it isn't an option!

Does anyone know a way around this because, frankly, that is just rude!

If Sky have LLU'd your line then you can get BT to do a 'return to donor' for free, but you will be required to take 12m line rental with them. You can't go direct from one LLU provider to another.

I've no idea what LLUing is but it sounds right. I will give BT a call next week. It still works out a whole lot cheaper if I take the line rental through BT and the package through Orange.

    Thanks for your help.
