Yeah that's the one. Thats what i meant when i said beading, haha didnt know what it was called. But yes i thought piping would be put on after. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

the bottom two tears look like they have no piping so if you leave the top two together then you could transport it like that. Just make sure the lady has put sticks inside to support the weight and the top two layers are iced together it might hold. Could it go on your lap for the journey?
Also why not look at cake makers near birmingham. Where abouts are you planning on getting married? What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
Picklepick: how much is the cake? My cake is from a cake makers in Cannock (nr Brum) and is £99.
Edit: found the price further up, DOH!
The lady making mine has a wide selection of cakes between £100 & £200...maybe worth a look?

Pickle - that's my old home town and in fact I have just driven through it on my way back from Droitwich about an hour ago.
There is a lady that I know called Sarah Adcock Special Occasions Cakes & Cupcakes - she is based in Barnt Green which is close to Bromsgrove (she delivers all her cakes) - I met her at a wedding fair (my stand was next to hers), she had taken sample cake with her and was disappointed to see another cake maker there who had been around for a lot longer but there was a massive differents in texture and flavour of the cakes - hers being lighter and tastier than the lumps of lead made by the other cake maker.

I am very picky about cake - and I loved her cake. I am sure that if you show her a picture of what you want she will be able to do it for you - she is reasonably priced too.0 -
You can definitely do it, just take everyone else's advise of packing the tiers seperately. Get the cake maker to pack them, and then you just need to stack the tiers when you get to the venue.
I am driving my 5 tier cake from Germany back to the UK!

Hello, I am Julie from the Eccles Cakery, I can supply the cake in a rigid box, it will be fine to transport it in your car, I use a grip matting in my car boot, which i can also supply, (you can buy it in rolls from pound shops or Wilkinsons,) it stops the box moving about. The cakes are secured together with icing,so won't move.0
