Hi,

A mate of mine has bought a laptop and put in a password that, if u ask me , was rather convoluting and complicated....so convoluting he can't get into his comp either because he's missing out letters or adding letters.who knows ?? How can he get into his comp and change the password to a more manageable and user friendly password ?

boot up in safe mode press F5 at bios screen
then log into the administrator no password by default and he can then go to control panel accounts and changed his password from there

careful though as under windows xp if you change the password it will delete all the files in my documents from what i can remember.
copy them somewhere else first.
