Neither have mine but a gardening kit that I ordered from the same place before I ordered the peonies arrived the other day so hopefully it won't be long :)

Thompson & Morgan have been selling these as offers for some time now. My MIL bought one through The Times last year, paying a bit more than you folk - £12.50 I think. She also had one of the 'hardy' gerberas shown on their site too, but it came from another source.

She hasn't got either plant now. The winter did for both of them, though the peony never looked happy and was smaller than she expected. I would treat both to very careful nurturing over the first year or so.

As a nursery person who relies on personal contact with customers, you can probably guess what I think!;)

Thank you for the replies. I don't usually buy mail order plants, I love to wander around the garden centre, but as this was cheap with no postage it was worth a shot. We'll see how it goes.

I thought peonies were quite tolerant to our weather. My neighbour and MIL has theirs survived. I thought mine died though but its come back abet slowly. I think I have it in wrong place it doenst get much sun so growth will be slow. I did out some good home made compost in before I planted it and fed it with blood, bone meal

On hindsight I don't think I've got anywhere to plant these now I've gone a bit mad buying plants, will have to make room somewhere! I didn't get the advisory email but have had a confirmation of order sent to it and also debited from my account.
