Service and Warranty

Hi guys,

My car is due for a service and MOT in the next few weeks. It was purchased last year, it a 56 reg Meriva bought from Vauxhall dealer. My question is, do I need to get the service and MOT done by the same garage or one of the franchises to keep the warranty on car valid? I am led to believe this is the case. I've done this with previous cars but wondered if it is correct. The dealers are quite expensive!!!!

What is the warranty surely it's out of manufactures warranty? I would think anyone can MOT it.

Thanks! To be honest I only remember reading that invalidated the warranty. Need another read I think! Probably got the wrong end of something somewhere!

if it has a warranty any garage can service/mot it using main dealer parts and following the correct service schedule

It'll be outside the manufacturer's warranty by now, providing Vauxhall offer 3 year warranties. Even if it wasn't you can get a service/MOT/work done at any garage and it wont invalidate your warranty as long as any parts and processes are manufacturer approved.
