We have had terrible problems with ants both inside and outside the house over the last 10 years of living here, but right now i just want to comment on the virgin thing. My parents had virgin installed and had never had probs ith ants in their bungalow and then suddenly they started appearing all over the place. It turns out, where the cable had been fed through the exterioir wall was where they were getting in, Dad put some sealer around the holes inside and outside and that was the end of the problem. Might be an idea for you if you haven;'t done so already...also, spray some ant killer around that area outside.

My mum has always used the Ant Stop bait stations in the house as there is no mess, you can get them from Wilko's

These were the first thing I tried but they haven't worked for me.

I know what you mean, everytime I see them I can do nothing but itch for ages after.

Are you sure you haven't got ants in your pants?

I can't remember where I read it but someone once wrote that ants won't cross a white line! So, when we returned from a weekend away and found an ant trail from the front door to the kitchen, I used talcum 'podder'. I sprinkled a line of talc across the inner door way and around the tiny gap where they were getting in. That was last Sunday and we didn't see a single ant after that - left the line down for a couple of days. Now I've typed this I bet they'll be back tomorrow..
