We have a brand new cooker hood and were pleased to see this new product by CIF. We used it as instructed but it has left terrible marks, and almost stains on the hood. We cant get them off and we are not sure, other than buy another one, how we are going to solve the problem. I have emailed them, as their 'care line!' is only open 9-5 and i cant ring from work. I just wanted to let other people know so they dont have problems too.
Would be interested if anyone else has had same problem?
Sorry to go on but really angry about it!

Hello paws
I haven't used this product but other members might have been about to buy it or use it...............so your post will help to prevent further miserable customers.;)
I'm sure that the manufacturer will respond to your e-mail. To help our MSE members, can you tell us who is the manufacturer (and what is the name) of this product?
I used to work for a 'household goods' manufacturing company a while ago. Even though I worked in the laundrycare department, I could often be asked to help other departments to test their products. I remember one case in particular.
I was asked to test an air freshener aerosol spray can. This was in response to a 'customer complaint' they'd received about the actuator (spray mechanism) being faulty. Several of the staff were asked to test the spray can, before the customer was contacted again.
So.......if you get a reply which states that they're investigating your complaint..........it means that they'll do their own tests before responding to your complaint.
I wouldn't try to clean the cooker hood until they have had the opportunity to see the damage. I certainly wouldn't consider buying a new cooker hood, unless they gave you the funds (compensation) to do so.;)

Hi
It was CIF stainless steel gel by Unilever. Would be interested if anyone else has had any problems?

Hi Paws,
I don't know if this will help lift the stains, but baby oil is really really good for stainless steel- thank you so much for telling us about this product, it was on my shopping list! Hope this works,
