Can you remove/edit Streetview for a property listing on Rightmove?

My postcode brings up an ugly street on Rightmove, i live in a new build estate and as the roads are private i don't think google could come down them to take the photos.

The EA said it cannot be edited or removed, but they didn't seem that clued up about it, so wondering if anyone knows if its possible?
I have seen some Rightmove ads that don't have Streetview, ideally id like it change to the streetview they have thats the front of my estate, which is nearer my house but doesn't come up for my postcode (don't know why).

Any smart person can use streetview without the rightmove link.

Plenty of arial views as well on line

Make sure there is an outside picture that can identify the building on the arial views

well if they tried to find it themselves they are more likely to realise they aren't on the right street or would be able to at least get to the front of the estate, which you can do when you put the little guy on the map rather than use the exact postcode.
Im just worried that as it is, they will click the link see the ugly street and not even realise that its not the right one as you would presume that the Rightmove ad would be showing up the correct street on Streetview.

I have been looking at rental properties lately and always click on Streetview to have a nosey round the area. Quite a lot of the time the view isn't of the road where the house I am looking for is situated.
As long as your Rightmove ad has the street name and post code in it will be easier for the user to identify that the streetview is in the wrong place as the streetview maps show roads names and you can navigate about a bit till you find the right place. HTH.

My Streetview is great: turn one way and see my house, turn the other and there's a lovely view, with a dung spreader chucking ordure everywhere in the foreground!

I agree with peppa-pig, once people are used to Streetview, they'll realise its no more accurate than the Post Code. If you have the street name on the Rightmove page, most folk will be bright enough to see what's going on when they 'land.'

If you think the starting point for 'your' postcode isn't the true centre for that postcode, you need to tell google, not your EA or Rightmove.

Bear in mind that if you put a postcode in, it starts at a point deemed to be the CENTRE of that postcode, not at your house......
  • There's an option on Rightmove to report incorrect details on a property, although they do say that if you're the vendor to go through your agent.

Tell your agent you think the property location or outlook is being misrepresented - those are material statements under the Property Misdescriptions Act.

I would check with Rightmove. Not every property has every feature in the bar where the street view link exists, so I assume that it is at the Agent's discretion. If it is at Agent's discretion, your Agent might still have difficulty removing it if they use some sort of a template - but don't let them deter you from getting it removed.
