Credit Card Limits

I had a Sainsburys credit card for the last 8 years. My card limit last year was £5100 with a balance of nearly £5000 which i paid off in full. with no problems, i kept the card thinking it is a useful thing to have for emergencies etc with that limit. Then without warning Sainsbury's Bank reduced the limit to £3400. I was using it and was well under the limit, i accepted this no problems. Now again they have reduced the limit to £2450 to bring it closer to the balance of my account, this i find is unscrupulous as they have placed themselves in a position where there is a possibility of my going over the limit and them making money. When spoke to them about it they said it was based on my personal circumstances. How i wonder can they form that judgement when i paid off the card last year with nearly £5000 and i am about to go on holiday shortly. I fully support what the Panorama program said about the way Banks operate, they should be ashamed of the way the operate. I am now going to pay this card off in full and they can stick it!

I would strongly advise anyone not to touch Sainsburys Bank Credit Card with a barge pole as i have been a loyal customer who has been dunged on.

I think this website is great as it shows how the banks etc try to control peoples lives, we should all try to take steps with determination to control our own lives.
