Help with Double Glazing - Please move if wrong part of forum

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help me. In 2005, we had some double glazing installed by a local double glazing fitter. At the time, he was not FENSA registered and we knew nothing about FENSA.

We are now selling our house and there is some doubt about the type of glass in our windows. We were under the impression that they were K glass, but my brother suspects that they are not. We can't see any logos or marks on the glass, apart from the downstairs bay which has the British Kite mark in each pane.

Can someone tell me:

1.What standards do my glass units need to meet?
2. How do I tell if the glass is up to standard?
3. What are my consumer rights seeing as they were installed in 2005? (Assuming my glass is not up to standard).

As you can probably tell, I'm a little worried because I certainly can't afford to replace them!

Thanks

Don't worry about it. You can either get your local council to give a certificate of compliance or because your talking something that is so old your conveyancing solicitor can arrange a indemnity policy which is quite possibly the cheaper option
