Previously I had been able to get the CDTs in branch, but now that it's Santander, they have to be sent out from central office. Has anyone already received theirs or know how long it should take?

Has anybody actually managed to get a Tax Deduction Certificate for their current account out of Santander. I have been trying for the 2009/10 tax year for two months and have got nowhere.
They are a lying bunch of ..... First they told me they were sent out automatically by 15th May. Then that they couldn't be produced till the account had been opened for a full year (so if you opened it on 28 Feb 2009, you wouldn't get a certificate for 2009/10 till 28 Feb 2011), but managed to over-ride the system, then again that they would send one out - still nothing has arrived.0 -
Yes, eventually, after several phone calls. As their current account earns interest monthly (at least mine does), then even if you have only had the account open for a couple of months, then you still have paid tax etc. It is a pain to get anywhere with Abbey/Santander. You used to be able to get one from a branch, but not anymore. I got the spiel, they would be sent out automatically, but I concluded that that may be applicable to Savings accounts, not necessarily for current accounts. So ring about once a week and request one each time, eventually you'll get one. Make a note of the date when you requested it as well for your own records. With Abbey/Santander you need to be proactive, don't assume it's coming your way, they are a bunch of incompetents.0

Thanks, I have now phoned 6 times since 11 May, but still got nothing. I have raised a complaint with the Chief Exec, but even their handing of that is terrible - they still haven't even allocated anyone to look into it! Still waiting, but they always say they have requested one, and it can take 10 days to get to me!0
