Rewire Quote (I need a stiff drink)

Hi,

We are looking to buy a 3 bedroom house in Hertfordshire and the owners have kindly let us send round a plumber and electrician to quote on a new boiler system and re-wire.

The plumbing quote was fine. The rewire quote was over 6k!! Two weeks of labour and parts only amounting to £900.

Now I know the house needs the walls channeled out as they are solid but this seems alot!

Also the house will be empty during the rewire. Anyone think this is too much in terms of time and money?

Cheers

3k is the average rewire costs.
so the channeling work is pretty expensive.
ask them to quote you without the channel costs, and you will do that yourself, or arrange it.
    Get some gorm.
