Hi All,
My brother is getting married very soon. There are a couple of people who cannot attend and they want to give a little gift for them to enjoy. They have asked me to help with ideas and so now I am coming to you! Can always rely on you lot me thinks..
They were thinking of a little bottle of champagne and choccies. So now I am on the hunt for cheap champers on their behalf. Cheapest I have found is £5.99 for quarter bottle of Piper-Heidseich(sp?). Can you do any better than this. Or do you have some other suggestions for them to offer?
Any ideas would be much appreciated, and thank you in advance...

Can't help with the price of champers but Thorntons used to do little bride and groom boxes with 1 or 2 chocolates in. Find a nice box, put tissue in, put bottle in corner to corner and put the choccies in either side of the bottle.
I've done this and told the couple they had to take the present and open it on their wedding night - they did and were pleasantly surprised as they had expected handcuffs for some reason!LOL. Perhaps they didn't know me quite as well as they thought!

Have just remembered that we were given both a bottle of champers and a kit for turning it into a lamp, complete with the most hideously revolting lightshade you can imagine. It was turquoise and fringed, and clashed disastrously with our decor, our sense of taste and the green of the champagne bottle.
It was relegated to the outside loo ...
So my suggestion is that if they want to make the champagne into a lasting memento, they exercise discretion in the lightshade department ...
Although chocolate is good ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
another really nice idea for this type of thing....
either invest in some disposable cameras (boots often do BOGOFS), wrap them up all pretty - these can then be dished out at the reception for example for people to take snaps of the wedding often missed by the hired photographer. The photos can then be given to the bride and groom
failing that, a really nice album/scrap book thing for them to either fill with wedding keepsakes (as in an 'alternative' album - a more human friendly one, less polished and impersonal than the albums with the professional albums always look), or a "here's to the rest of your life together" type of thing.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
