Fitting a new cooker hood

Fitting a new cooker hood and the cable that has been supplied with the unit is not long enough to reach the socket ,can i use a junction box and attach new cable and what size cable do I need ?
Is it ok but to use a 3 amp fuse in the plug or 13amp?

Or any other ideas ?

Any help would be appreciated.

best to get a new socket installed closer to the hood.
otherwise i would change the cable for a longer one. that might break the warranty however.
(keep the old cable safe maybe?).

a junction box would be a last resort.

    ps
    a 13 amp fuse.
    Get some gorm.

Thankyou for the advice, is there any special cable i use?
the cable has 3 wires, some cables or thick and thin, is there a certain one to use?
    thanks again

from the manual it says the motor is double insulated. why its got 3 wires i dont know?
an earth for the metal hood, just in case?
the motor is only 200 watts. which is far smaller than your WM or hoover motor.

    guide to flex cable sizes.
    three core flex.

Use for all appliances that need to be earthed.

0.75mm2 For appliances up to 1.4kW
    1.0 mm2 For appliances up to 2.3kW
1.25mm2 For appliances up to 2.9kW
1.5mm2 For appliances up to 3.6kW
    Get some gorm.
