Hi,
I have claiming tax credits for the past few years. I am married. My wife until 3 months ago was unemployed.
We have no kids. We are living with my parents shortly to move out to a house i have just bought. We dont live in London (dont know if this is relevant).
My Income is £16000 per year.
We have a joint claim. We are currently receiving in the region of £54 per month.
My question is this. Not doubting the calculators at the Tax credits office..does this figure sound correct to all you experienced people?

um - did you mean 160 000 a year cos you usually don't get any tax credits at that level0

HI
You will need to let hmrc know about your wife's job and income to prevent a possible overpayment - you need to do that today. .
Is the £16,000 your income alone or the joint income?
Off the top of my head, if you have a joint income of more than £17,000 you wouldn't be entitled to working tax credits any more (this is just from memory so hopefully someone will be along soon to clarify)The Cabbage
