Advice for a self employed newbie to websites, please?

I work from home for a children's book selling company. We're soon to get templated websites and I'm rather nervous that when that happens all the "good" domain names will vanish and I'll be stuck with bogstandardbooks.com  ... so I've done myself a little website. I don't want anything vastly and terrifyingly professional, and want to know what others think - remember this is a business that any old soul is able to do from home at not vast expense. I know I have to add more information about what we do (and pictures beyond the background) but as a start until we know what the company are going to offer in the form of the templated sites, I'd love some ideas of what people think (please?!) http://www.usbornebooksfromhome.com

I dont wanna be a kill joy,but a lot of companies dont like you using their name in any way shape or form, in the agents domain name, and forbid it. Have you checked this is ok with Osborne?

I love the look of it, but I think your text needs to appear slightly further up, as it's not obvious that there is text on the front page.

We have a bundle of conditions in our handbook, but I think it's covered if I put that bit at the bottom - my plan is to email a link to the office and see whether they're ok with it on Monday when they're open.

That's interesting. Text appears on my browser, but my screen is BIG and the scale is small. I'll have to see what I can change to improve that ...

I just couldn't resist those little creatures!
