The Big Feed
Do you want to be a record breaker?
Saturday 14th May 2005
Little Angels is organising ‘The Big Feed’ to take place on Saturday, 14th May 1pm – 5pm in Lancashire. The venue is yet to be confirmed.
To celebrate National Breastfeeding Awareness Week this year, we are going to break the world record for the most women breastfeeding simultaneously. The current record is set in California, USA and is for just over 1,100 women. If we can get 1,500 women, all breastfeeding, then we can easily break this record.
We plan to hold the event in Lancashire and to make it a family afternoon so that dads, grandparents and siblings can all join in the fun. We are having trade and charity stands at the event. There will also be entertainment for the children and we will be having a guest speaker.
Little Angels is a community, non-profit making business that was set up in April 2004 and is financed by Blackburn with Darwen Early Years Excellence Children’s Trust and the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
At Little Angels we support, promote and protect breastfeeding and aim to make breastfeeding fashionable again. We help mums on a one to one basis with breastfeeding support, at ante natal clinics, on the hospital wards and run breastfeeding support groups. We work in conjunction with the health professionals and compliment the work they are doing.
The whole afternoon is intended to be fun with the highlight, at 3pm, being ‘The Big Feed’. If you would like to join us in this event, perhaps you could arrange for a coach full of people to attend.
We anticipate that this event will be high profile and aims to “put breastfeeding on the map”. This is the first time this has been attempted in the UK, so now is your chance to be involved in this exciting world record.
If you would like a trade or charity stall, please contact us. Likewise if you would like to attend yourself or want more information then please contact:
