Buying the Lease

Hope someone can help.
I bought a new build detached in 2009. It was lease hold and I would like to buy the lease.
My ground rent is £250 per annum fixed for 25 years.
I have 249 years on the lease.
I have had a look on hmrc and it says £7140 - Is this correct? I thought because I am buying early it might be £2-3K.
Anyone any ideas?
TIA

You already own the lease so you do not need to buy it!
I assume you mean that you want to buy the freehold.
What has hmrc got to do with valuing a freehold reversion?RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
Yes!! Sorry I want to buy the freehold.
I had a look around the forum and found a link to the hmrc that seemed to deal with this sort of thing. I'm clueless, can you tell?!
How can I investigate the cost before consulting solicitors etc.
Thanks0 -
