Hi,
looking for breakdown cover at the moment. Was going to use Tesco deals but seems if I do, I pay through the nose for it (circa 120 quid for RAC breakdown and recovery) and can't do quidco either.
Any good deals about at the moment, or tips for quality cover?

I have not used 'mainstream' breakdown companies for a few years.
My preference, and it works for me, is AutoAid. Works like a policy, if you break down you contact them or garage direct to arrange repair/recovery. Downside is you pay up front then reclaim. Covers; breakdown, and if required, hotel/travel costs.
Currently £39 per year.0 -
Also try GreenFlag and AA using TopCashBack or Quidco.0

I've used "rescuemycar.com" for the last couple of years. Great prices, but I can't comment on the service because I haven't had to use it.0

Hi
Apologies to FK for butting in on your thread, but I had a quick question - for those of you who use rescuemycar.com, I was looking at buying one of their policies and saw that it includes legal cover - does that mean I don't need to get legal cover on my car insurance policy or is it something different? It's really confusing me!
FK - moneysupermarket.com has a price comparison bit on its site, you might want to try that to get an idea of some better prices, I found loads starting at about £30.0 -
Where's the £120 from using Tesco deals?
I paid £28.50 in Tesco Clubcard vouchers for RAC Breakdown and Recovery last month.

The top RAC package comes in at £51 worth of deals, Not exactly 4 times their value when you get a £50 discount for buying online.
Full price £181 online price £132.43Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thats my point, 4 times 28.50 is 120 quid (ish) and seems dear when i can get same online for 73 quid and if through quidco probably something off that too.
EDIT........just done RAC, roadside and recovery for 73 quid and 20 quid back from quidco.
Thanks all for your replies.0 -
Hi, i received my renewal for myself and hubby for roadside assistance for £86 rang AA to cancel as i was going to look around and she immediately offered me the internet price of £59 (i think) then she dropped it further to £51. She said in future just to ignore the renewal price !!!
I was going to cancel and hubby take out new cover through topcashback but reading reviews not much confidence in AA or RAC paying out cashback...0
