BT to Talktalk advice?

My line is with bt who i pay £10 and my calls go thru talk talk;i have there package for last 5 years in which i get free calls to usa and canada and local and long distance after 6 pm and i dont pay anything as a fee to talk talk. my BB is with O2 which im happy with. now talk talk called me yesterday that i switch to talktalk from bt and pay talktalk £14 a month ; i get the same package plus 0870 and 0845 numbers calling free. what should i do stay with bt or switch?

Hello there, my advice would be first to check www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php with your Post Code. If under the LLU section Talk Talk is ticked then my advice would be to stay with BT. If Talk Talk move you onto their network you may lose your O2 broadband completely and have the facility only to get broadband through Talk Talk. A 5 minute scan through the internet on Talk Talk's reputation and customer service levels should let you know why you wouldn't want that to happen :P.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I'm inclined to agree with Heinz...If you're happy with your service, what's a few quid? I'm on TalkTalk and it's (got switched when they bought Tiscali) but the line does drop sometimes....Broadband speed and reliability is a gamble - some providers do it great in some areas and some are rubbish in others. If what you've got works, keep it.
