I posted my hijack log on tomcoyote forums as pc picked 5 viruses and was advised to remove netmeter. I find this strange as I have installed netmeter to monitor my internet usuage. Any idea, anybody? Thanks

think I see where the confusion came up

    http://www.symantec.com.mx/avcenter/venc/data/pf/spyware.netrat.html

Spyware.Netrat is a spyware program that logs user networking activity, and sends the logs to remote servers.

When Spyware.Netrat is installed, it performs the following actions:
    1. Creates the following files:
      • %ProgramFiles%\Netratings\Premeter\Netratings.exe
      • %ProgramFiles%\Netratings\Premeter\Nrpr.exe
      • %System%\NMTracer.dll
      • %System%\Drivers\nmconpid.sys
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\config.ini
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\netmeter.log
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmconpid.sys
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmconpid.vxd
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmgk101.dll
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmgk140.dll
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmnsob60.dll
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmnsob61.dll
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmnsob62.dll
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\nmobsvr.dll
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\OpiStat.exe
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\OpiStatInstall.exe
      • %ProgramFiles%\Opistat\Opistat\setup.ini
help2go's analyser also says that its spyware but I think its the filename causing the confusion as it's similar

    Usually not good either...
If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anyway
